Whole Songwriting

Join a community of songwriters

Songwriting can be lonely. Let's create a community for people who love all aspects of songwriting. The craft, the meaning, the emotional depth, and the mystery.

Whole Songwriting.

A place to share songs and talk about the process.

Why?

Songwriting is good for you. It helps you process your life. Like journaling, it shows you what’s happening in your unconscious mind. It can help you notice your surroundings, stay present, or commemorate an important moment. Songwriting is an endless practice of exploring what matters to you.

Sharing your songs in a supportive environment helps you practice being brave. Hearing songs from others is always delightful. When we talk with others about our songs, they can help us grow in the practice of songwriting. Instead of aiming for fame or popularity, let’s create a community to witness our songs in a satisfying way.

Whole Songwriting will not help you become a professional songwriter. We see songwriting is a practice for learning and growing as people. If you decide to publish your songs, and they become popular, that is great. But it’s not the goal of this group.

What to expect

We gather on zoom in small groups. Each person gets a chance to share. You could:
  • Share a song you wrote
  • Share a song you love
  • Talk about an experience related to songwriting
  • Ask a question about songwriting

Then, the group responds. If you share an original song, you can ask for the type of feedback you want. Some people may want criticism, and others may want encouragement.
